Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant will oversee the day-to-day operations in Financial Accounting for the various affiliate companies of the Arizona Cardinals Football Club, primarily Insignia Events. This includes managing tasks to produce timely periodic financial reports, maintaining an adequate system of accounting records and reconciliations of the company’s reported financial results, balance sheets, and ensuring that reported results comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

 

Primary Job Duties:

The Senior Accountant will have the daily responsibilities including, without limitation, to the following:

  • Prepare and post journal entries for Cardinal’s subsidiary companies.
  • Revenue, Recurring, Fixed Assets, Game Day, Reclassification and Allocation, Accounts Receivable posting, etc.
  • Prepare and post entries to complete bank reconciliations for Insignia Companies.
  • Reconciliations for balance sheet accounts.
  • Prepare and post Payroll Entries from iSolved to GP Dynamics.
  • Reconcile Intercompany and Affiliate accounts.
  • Review & add new GL Accounts as necessary.
  • Compile ad hoc daily/weekly/monthly reports and reconciliations
  • Assist in financial audits.
  • Monthly Sales tax preparation and filings.
  • Maintain documentation of detailed desk procedures.
  • Assist in streamlining and automation of month end closing processes for subsidiary companies.
  • Accounting Special Projects.
  • Assist the with “as needed” projects, including generation of ad hoc reports and requests, and assist as needed on special reporting.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field (or equivalent experience), CPA preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of accounting experience with working knowledge of recording journal entries and preparing reconciliations.
  • Must have a strong concept of general accounting processes and practices.
  • Proficient in Excel.
  • Experience with Great Plains (Microsoft Dynamics), and Excel Interfacing Software preferred.
  • Experience with Concur preferred.
  • Experience streamlining and automating accounting processes is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, technical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, strong verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively work in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities that require strong project management, decision-making capabilities, and flexibility.
  • Must complete all pre-employment forms and successfully pass a background check.
